Bladder Problems
Bladder conditions can be secondary to bacterial infection (cystitis), stones (urolithiasis), powerful medications and cancer. Improper diet and the resulting high levels of metabolic wastes and toxic breakdown products can directly irritate the bladder and set the stage for problems. The urine is one of the prime exits (exhausts) of metabolic byproducts from the body and the bladder, being a receptacle, can become inflamed setting the stage for chronic problems.

Bladder problems are so common that we developed Earth Animal’s Pee Pee Formula as a simple treatment for bladder conditions. Pee Pee is formulated with medicinal herbs such as Urva ursi, Dandelion, Marshmallow and Horsetail.

In addition, the most important supplemental remedy for treating bladder problems is vitamin C (ascorbic acid). Doses of up to 4000 mg per day for large dogs and between 1000 and 2000 mg per day for cats and smaller dogs are most beneficial. Not only is vitamin C effective in acidifying urine and cleaning out the bladder, it is also a great preventive. Also recommended for this condition are cranberry capsules.
